Jillian and Michael's engagement photos

We were thrilled to be chosen as the photographers for this lovely couple's engagement shoot. They are set to tie the knot early next year, and we knew we had to find a location that reflected their love for history and architecture. Ellicott City, with its charming cobblestone streets and well-preserved buildings, was the perfect choice.

We arrived in Ellicott City bright and early, eager to capture the beauty of the city and the love between this amazing couple. As we explored the area, we were struck by the rich history that surrounded us. Every corner we turned seemed to hold a story, and we knew that this would be the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos.

The couple were a joy to work with. They were relaxed and easygoing, and they were always up for a laugh. They even agreed to climb onto the train tracks for a few shots! (We know, we know... safety first!)

As the day progressed, we were grateful that we had just beaten the rain. The clouds parted, and the sun shone down on us, creating some truly magical moments. We used natural light and shadows to our advantage, creating dynamic and eye-catching photos that captured the couple's love and laughter.

We can't wait to capture their wedding day. We know it will be a beautiful and memorable occasion, and we're honored to be a part of it.

Tips for Choosing an Engagement Shoot Location:

Consider the couple's interests and personalities. What kind of place do they love to spend time? Are they outdoorsy or do they prefer urban settings? We talk to the couple prior to the session to see if they have a location that is meaningful to them.

Think about the time of year. If you're shooting in the summer, you'll want to find a location that's shady and cool. If you're shooting in the winter, you'll want to find a location that's indoors or that has plenty of natural light.

Scout the location in advance. This will give you a chance to get a feel for the layout and lighting and to identify any potential problems.

Be flexible. Things don't always go according to plan, so be prepared to adjust your schedule or location if necessary.

Most importantly, have fun! This is a special time for the couple, so relax and enjoy the process.
