Santa Made an early visit

Our friend Lori reached out to us with an exciting proposal: to help her bring to life a dream she had been cherishing for two decades – creating the perfect Santa portrait.

Lori shared a painting she adored, a portrait of Santa with a dark background, as inspiration for the photoshoot. With her sewing skills, Lori fashioned an eye-catching red suit, meticulously adding details to bring the character to life.

We were thrilled to accept the challenge! We began planning the photoshoot. We opted for dusk shooting to achieve the dramatic lighting reminiscent of the reference painting. We sought a location with a black background, mirroring the painting's style.

We discovered the perfect spot, their back yard– a secluded area with a tall tree and a dark, wooded backdrop. This setting would provide the ideal contrast for the vibrant red Santa suit.

On the day of the photoshoot, Lori's husband, a true trooper, braved the cold and patiently posed for the photos. As we were setting up to go outside we saw their perfect Christmas decorations with a fireplace, tree, and model train! We HAD to get a few there also. We captured a variety of shots, showcasing Santa in various poses and expressions.

As the photos reveal, the shoot was a magical success. Lori was overjoyed with the outcome, as were we. Her two-decade-long dream had finally materialized, and we were honored to play a part in making it happen.

We welcome such unconventional assignments. Bringing someone's vision to life is always a challenge, but it's also incredibly rewarding. We're immensely grateful for the opportunity to fulfill Lori's dream.
